In addition to trying to gain some blogger’s focus, I’m thinking I should get back to reading more. I love to read…and as you can see from our bookshelf, reading interests run the gamut in the Pace household. We’ve actually read those books on our shelf, too. Well, ok, most of them – Steal This Urine Test I found that at a Goodwill store, and the cover made me laugh so hard that I had to own it (see for yourself here). Some are in the process of being read – The Shipping News and In the Time of Madness. Others are for reference – The St. Martin’s Handbook and What’s Your Poo Telling You?
In college, we manage to make time to do all these required readings, and then it seems we fall off the book wagon as we get jobs and start families only to jump back on once we’ve retired. Why is that?
What’s on your bookshelf?

i just read a piece out the Reader’s Digest Fix It Yourself book. You and Justin gave us the book for a gift one year. It helped me fixed the toilet that was leaking overnight and flooded my bathroom.
Thanks!

I’m reading Van Jones’ The Green Economy right now. Its pretty good. I agree I feel like my reading has slowed. I’m either too tired on my commute or I’m reading work stuff. And the weekends? They are for mid-day naps, bike rides and egg and cheese sandwiches in the park.

You should read The Brain Dead Megaphone by George Saunders. It is a collection of his articles and essays and is fantastic. Also, I read Picking Cotton recently on a plane from cover to cover. Google that shit-it is an amazing story.
The boys and I read and listened to The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo. Fantastic! Everyone would love it.

Although my current reading list would be of no interest to those without children, I just picked a what looks to be a good read titled “Bad Samaritans: They Myth of Free Trade and the Secret History of Capitalism”. A mouthful, I know.
