It was quite an experience to be abroad while the US was trying to determine who the next Presidential candidates would be.  The Aussie interest in US politics is high, and they seem to know just as much (if not more) about our government as any American does.

President Bush is not so popular in Australia, so it doesn’t come as a surprise to me when I read, “Australians have overwhelmingly declared their support for US presidential hopeful Barack Obama.”  Apparently, of those Australians polled, 76% are hoping for an Obama win!

In fact, the poll reached out to people in 17 countries (UK, Brazil, Taiwan, Germany, etc…) and the sentiment was the same – get Obama in the White House.  Read the whole AAP article, Aussies want Obama as next US president

Looks like Gov. Palin has some more winking to do in order to help her party into the White House 😉

Speaking of Palin, I got this in a forward today and I thought it was funny enough to share.  *Click image to enlarge!
