Previous posts made during our time in Sydney have been hastily put together. Here is a more thorough blog:
Wednesday: Justin and I did the tourist thing; it was awesome!
Sydney has 4 million people, and I can see why so many people are here. It’s all that you would expect from a big, capital city. Cafés and restaurants are everywhere. 7-11s have also made it big here in Sydney; there’s a store on every block. Also, our place is just a street away from the heart of Chinatown. There are herbalists and hairdressers, and pho and Thai restaurants, and vegetable vendors on every corner! Another thing is that there are quite a few “adult” stores in the area (my vote for best club name – The Pleasure Chest). When it comes to shopping, there’s definitely no lacking of it in Sydney. Everything from Salvatore Ferragamo and Puma to Bath & Body Works and Nine West can be found. Of course, there are plenty of $10-20 deals on every corner as well.
On top of that, the coastal/harbour views are amazing! We hit the major harbors – Darling Harbour and Sydney Harbour. Both areas are filled with restaurants, shops, art galleries, etc… The Sydney Opera House is incredible. To see something in pictures and movies and then to see it in person – insane! We walked around for quite a long time just soaking in the views. Afterward, we made it up to Sydney Harbour National Park as well where we were able to walk up to an area called The Gap, and I can’t think of a better word than, well, breathtaking! At the very top, we could see the major landmarks – the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Tower (the tallest building in the city at 250m – 820ft). Justin and I stopped at a place called Doyle’s for lunch. I think it’s quite famous as we’ve had several recommendations to stop here from various sources! Justin had the fish and chips (chips = french fries; crisps = chips), and I went for a burger. I’m not sure if it’s a Doyle’s thing or an Australian thing, but they put beets on the burger. In fact, for all the food we’ve had so far, our comment has been, Similar, but different.
Our day was long, but amazing.

Hi guys…
I’m thrilled things are going so well. However, I should start reading the blog when I’m at home since I’ve just spent the past 10 min staring into space thinking about you and Sydney. Well, my people just showed up for a signing…back to work.
luv, nlk

Really, I find there are much less adult places here, but than again I come from Montreal. And what’s up with all those adult book exchange stores… it just sounds dodgy!
Oh, beets on burgers is an Aussie thing.
